Famously known as “The Heart of China Railway”, Zhengzhou, the capital city of Henan Province is a must-visit place in central China. Zhengzhou was founded in the Shang Dynasty with a history stretching back over 3500 years. Long before it was founded, Zhengzhou was the place where The Great Yellow Emperor Huang Di was born. Located between the upper and middle reaches of the Yellow River, this ancient and lively city isthe cradle of the splendid culture of the Chinese nation.
ZHENGZHOU TRADEMARK TOWER
The Erqi Memorial Tower, located in Erqi Square, was built to commemorate the Great Strike of Chinese Worker on February 7th, 1923. This tower is also known as Twin Tower, has altogether 14 floors with a total height of 63 meters. The top of this tower will give you a bird’s eye view of the city of Zhengzhou.
As one of the oldest museums in China, Henan museum has a collection of more than 130,000 pieces of cultural relics treasures, which includes exhibits from prehistoric times; dinosaur fossils, human remains, up through Modern Era.
MOUNT SONG & SHAOLIN TEMPLE
Literally means “lofty mountain”, Mount Song is the central of Five Great Mountains of China, where Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism met and blended. It is located on the southbank of Yellow River with its summit 1500 meters above sea level. ShaolinTemple, the ancient center of Chinese Kung Fu and its Pagoda Forest were inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010.
YELLOW RIVER SCENIC AREA
This second largest river was where Yan and Huang emperors formed an alliance, also known as the birthplace of the Chinese Chess. Yellow River has 5 scenic spots, which are: Five Dragons Peak, Camel Mountain Rage, Yue Shan Temple, Huang Di & Yang Distatue figures, and Ancient City of Liu Bang & Xiang Yu.
